A letter to my graduated self

Its the third week of school, and I'm already counting down the days until summer 2015. In Auburn, the high school holds 10th-12th graders. Its been 3 weeks of school and it seems like there are hundreds of more temptations then there were in junior high. I've already realized that it is so easy to get caught up in the things that Satan throws at us, so, I decided to write this blog as a letter to my graduated self.

Dear me,
I hope that you are reading this as a graduated high school student, closer to God than ever before, and loving people and yourself more than you did as a high school sophomore. I know that you have been faced with many, many, many obstacles and I am sure you have messed up a time or two. All in all, i hope that you love who you have become and that you represent Christ incredibly. I have a few pieces of advice that are heavy on my heart that I wonder and hope that you will agree with by the time you are walking across the stage and smiling big.

I hope that you never lost sight of who you are and who you belong to. You are a child (no matter if you are 15 or 18) of God. I know that you have been in situations that are difficult, hard to deal with, and soometimes unbearable. However, I hope you could remember that there was joy coming. As any person, but especially teenage girls, self-confidence is a hard thing to deal with. It is so easy to get caught up in the perfect girl, that you might have wanted to change yourself into the idealistic gal. You might have wanted to change physical beauty or even inner beauty. But I'm writing this to tell you that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE WORTH IT. and YOU ARE GOD'S. I hope and pray that you remembered this throughout high school.

I hope that you knew how much God loves you. Lemme tell ya something. You probably messed up today. You probably messed up atleast once every day in your life. You are human and you have sinned. But I am writing this to tell you that God loves you despite what you have and haven't done. He wouldn't have sacrificed HIS SON if He didn't love you. No matter what you have done, GOD LOVES YOU.

Love,
Ellie

p.s I will probably add more things as I go throughout high school, but these are just a few of things that are heavy on my heart now.
